Create your own ceremonial drum in a sacred way at this 1-day workshop led by Julie Lange Groth, shamanic practitioner, ceremonialist and teacher. Through journeywork, ritual and ceremony you will make a sturdy, single-headed frame drum and beater, meet and honor the spirit of your drum and celebrate its birth.
You may buy a kit for a 12-inch drum at the workshop for $30 or you may order your kit online (some good sources are listed below). Materials will be available at the workshop to embellish your drum, and you may also bring special feathers or items of your own to add to your drum.
Prerequisite: Shamanic journey skills are helpful but not required.
What to bring:
·         Blanket, eye shade or bandanna, rattle if you have one
·         Notebook or journal and pen
·         Lunch, snacks and beverages for yourself

About the teacher:
Julie Lange Groth has been teaching shamanism for over 12 years. She is a graduate of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies 3-year program as well as Sandra Ingerman’s 2-year teacher training and is also authorized by Sandra to lead "Medicine for the Earth" gatherings. She has studied with other shamans from a variety of traditions. She is also an advanced Pranic Healing and Reiki 2 practitioner. For more info about her work, see www.shamansdrum.com.

Julie has loved drums since she started playing African hand drums in 1994 and quickly came to realize their healing power. Her own beloved shaman’s drum has taken her on many adventures and is dedicated to “playing peace, harmony, joy and love.”
